Moloka’i by Alan Brennert
I’m currently half way through this novel. When I get to the end, I’ll be sure to post up a review.
What I can tell you is that it’s a history-based novel about the island of Moloka’i (in Hawai’i) and its dark history as a former leprosy colony. What I can also tell you is that, so far, it is a very well-told and extremely depressing tale (in an uncontrollably heartfelt way).
Currently, at the end of every chapter I need a pick-me-up ice-cream to lighten my mood. Ugh… how am I going to get through this? Please let there be a happy ending!
